In this section you will find interesting tips and pointers on how to plan a motorcycle trip. STEP 4: PLAN YOUR ROUTE AHEAD The final step of planning your next trip is to plan your route ahead. Whether you plan on using a GPS or stick with paper maps, the main idea is to plan ahead your stops (lunch break for instance). The advantage of having a map with you (even if you're carrying a GPS) is a wide overlook possibility on a large area with many characteristic points that a GPS may not alwyas provide you with. It is always a good idea to consult more than one map prior to your trip. Besides a global one, it's good to have maps of local destinations in case you want to do some side seeing or visit local historic places, museums, restaurants or looking for a place to stay over night. Planning your own trip ahead of time is the whole idea of having fun later on the road, when riding your motorcycle through places you can take a full advantage of... Keep it fun, keep it safe! |
